Yard & Inventory Lead needed in Tulsa, OK for an established fencing company. Own inventory accuracy and yard organization, operate a forklift and skid steer, and help improve receiving and tracking processes. $20–$25/hr+ DOE.

Job Description

Our client, an established fencing company, is looking for a hands-on Yard & Inventory Lead to take ownership of the materials, inventory, and day-to-day organization of their yard operations.

This isn't a traditional warehouse position, and it isn't a desk job. The majority of the company's fencing materials are stored outdoors, so this person will spend their day moving between inventory management, equipment operation, material organization, receiving, and physically working in the yard.

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Pay: $20–$25/hr+ DOE

Responsibilities

- Take ownership of inventory accuracy and organization across the yard and material storage areas

- Receive incoming materials and verify quantities and products

- Stage and prepare materials for fencing crews and upcoming projects

- Load and unload trucks and trailers

- Operate a forklift and skid steer to safely move materials throughout the yard

- Track material movement and maintain accurate inventory within the company's software system

- Perform regular inventory counts and investigate discrepancies

- Help establish and maintain better processes for receiving, storing, tracking, and issuing materials

- Work closely with field crews and office personnel to ensure the correct materials are available when needed

- Maintain an organized, efficient, and safe yard

- Assist with basic fabrication or light welding when needed and qualified

- Help identify opportunities to improve workflow, organization, and overall yard operations

Requirements / Qualifications

This role requires someone who is willing to take real ownership of their area. We're looking for a person who sees something out of place and handles it, recognizes when a process isn't working and looks for a better way, and understands how inventory accuracy impacts the rest of the company.

The right person will be comfortable with both technology and physical work. You'll need to learn and consistently use the company's evolving software systems while also being willing to jump on a forklift or skid steer, load materials, organize the yard, and help wherever needed.

A previous lead or leadership background would be especially valuable. While this position does not currently have direct reports, we're interested in someone who understands accountability, can communicate effectively with different personalities, and has experience helping a team navigate changing processes or expectations.

Qualifications:

- Previous warehouse, yard, inventory, material handling, construction supply, or similar experience required

- Experience managing or maintaining inventory required

- Forklift operating experience required

- Skid steer operating experience preferred

- Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software systems

- Experience working through operational or process changes strongly preferred

- Previous lead or leadership experience preferred

- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

- Fabrication or light welding experience is a plus

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work independently and take ownership without constant direction

- Strong communication and teamwork skills

- Dependable with a consistent sense of urgency

Physical Requirements:

- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull materials

- Bend, stoop, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods

- Safely operate forklifts, skid steers, and other material handling equipment

- Load, unload, stage, and organize fencing materials

- Work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions

Benefits

This is a faith-based, team-oriented company that places a high value on its people and the way they work together. The team shares a common vision, participates in weekly culture conversations, and believes in taking care of employees while also holding one another accountable to doing quality work.
