Our client, a metal processing and manufacturing company, is seeking a dependable Material Handler to join their day shift team. This is a hands-on role for someone with strong forklift experience who is comfortable working in an active manufacturing environment and willing to cross-train in other areas of production.

Job Description

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
Pay: $16–$19/hr DOE 



Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a sit-down forklift to move material throughout the facility.
  • Load and unload materials and machines as needed.
  • Manually handle materials throughout the production process.
  • Use a tape measure accurately.
  • Assist with material movement and organization to keep production running efficiently.
  • Cross-train on machinery and other areas of production.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain awareness of surroundings while working around equipment and material.
  • Work as part of the team and step into different responsibilities as production needs change.

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Strong sit-down forklift experience required.
  • Overhead crane experience preferred.
  • Must be able to accurately read a tape measure.
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding manufacturing environment.
  • Willing and able to cross-train on production machinery.
  • Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Must be safety-conscious and committed to producing quality work.


Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

  • Frequent bending, lifting, twisting, turning, and other physical movement.
  • Must be able to lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular manual loading and unloading of machinery.
  • Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
  • Non-smoking facility.
  • Hard hat and safety glasses must be worn at all times.
  • Metatarsal boots required.
