Our client is seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to join their manufacturing operation in Tulsa, OK. This position will play a key role in ensuring materials are available when needed, maintaining strong supplier relationships, preventing supply disruptions, and supporting purchasing activities across the facility.

Job Description

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with a 3-month probationary period. The right candidate will have direct manufacturing procurement experience and be able to demonstrate hands-on experience with purchasing, inventory planning, supplier management, and ERP systems from day one.


Schedule: 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (30 Minute Lunch, Overtime is available with Manager pre-approval)
Pay: $28/hour

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchasing and procurement activities within a manufacturing environment
  • Manage supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance
  • Identify and address potential supply chain risks before they impact production
  • Support shortage prevention and ensure materials are available to meet operational needs
  • Manage inventory planning, MRP, and material replenishment activities
  • Utilize ERP systems to manage purchasing, inventory, and material requirements
  • Review and interpret Bills of Materials (BOMs) and other technical documentation
  • Source materials and negotiate with suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, and terms
  • Identify opportunities to control costs while maintaining quality and supply requirements
  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Shipping/Receiving, and external suppliers
  • Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory documentation
  • Respond quickly to changing material needs, shortages, and production priorities

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Previous procurement/purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong experience with supplier relationship and vendor performance management
  • Experience identifying and managing supply chain risks and material shortages
  • Hands-on experience with inventory planning, MRP, and material replenishment
  • Strong ERP experience; Oracle Fusion is highly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs and technical documentation
  • Demonstrated experience with sourcing, negotiation, and cost management
  • Ability to work effectively across Operations, Engineering, suppliers, and other departments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to work with urgency and maintain strong execution discipline
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
