Day Shift Inspector
Our client, a metal processing and manufacturing company, is seeking a Day Shift Inspector to join their quality team. This position is responsible for inspecting and measuring processed metal products throughout various stages of production to ensure they meet required specifications.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will have some manufacturing experience, strong attention to detail, and solid measurement skills. Additional inspection experience is a plus, but the company is willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work history, good attitude, and willingness to learn.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM–12:00 PM
Pay: $16–$19/hr DOE
Work Environment:
- Non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.
- Non-smoking facility.
- Hard hat and safety glasses required at all times.
- Metatarsal boots required.
- Strong emphasis on safety, quality, teamwork, and cross-training.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and measure parts to verify conformance with material and customer specifications.
- Perform quality inspections on processed plate products throughout various stages of production.
- Use tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform first article inspections as trained and assigned.
- Maintain accurate quality records and inspection documentation.
- Calibrate shop measuring devices as needed.
- Compile and review quality data, including nonconformance reports, scrap, rework, and customer feedback.
- Work closely with production to identify quality concerns and ensure finished products meet requirements.
- Cross-train and assist in other areas as needed.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Must be able to accurately read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch.
- Must be able to convert fractions to decimals.
- Familiarity with micrometers and calipers preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints preferred.
- A couple of years of manufacturing experience is ideal.
- Previous quality inspection or first article inspection experience is a strong plus.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Stable work history, good attitude, and dependable work ethic.
- Must be physically capable of working in an active manufacturing environment.

Approximate insurance costs every two weeks:
Single Coverage: $40–$75
Family Coverage: $90–$170
