CDL Class A Driver
We are hiring a CDL Class A Driver for a well-established steel recycling company. This is a local driving position with consistent daytime hours, limited weekends, and opportunities for overtime.
Job Description
Pay: $25–$26/hr DOE
Schedule:
Monday–Friday
7:00 AM – until routes are completed, typically around 3:30 PM
Overtime available
Weekends are rare and only required when necessary
Responsibilities
• Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport steel and recycled materials
• Safely drive manual-transmission commercial vehicles
• Get in and out of the truck regularly throughout the day
• Secure and tarp loads to ensure materials are transported safely
• Occasionally adjust or reposition pieces of metal as needed
• Complete required vehicle inspections and follow all DOT and company safety procedures
• Maintain safe and professional driving practices
• Learn to operate Lugger and Roll-Off equipment as needed
Requirements / Qualifications
• Valid Class A CDL strongly preferred
• Must be able to drive a manual transmission — candidates with an automatic-only restriction cannot be considered
• No minimum number of years of CDL driving experience required
• Lugger and Roll-Off experience preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Comfortable frequently getting in and out of the truck
• Able to tarp loads and perform occasional physical handling of materials
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and attendance
