Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
Our client, an established structural manufacturing company in the Claremore area, is seeking an experienced Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to join their quality team. This is a hands-on inspection role responsible for ensuring structural weldments and fabricated components meet required quality standards, specifications, and applicable welding codes throughout the production process.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding and fabrication, a sharp eye for detail, and the confidence to identify quality concerns and work with production teams to ensure issues are properly addressed.
Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM–3:30 PM
Pay: $30–$35 per hour, DOE
Position: Full-time
Responsibilities
• Perform visual weld inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with applicable codes and specifications
• Conduct fit-up inspections prior to welding and inspect completed welds, repairs, and fabricated assemblies
• Perform layout and dimensional inspections on parts and finished components using appropriate measuring tools
• Identify weld defects, dimensional discrepancies, and other quality concerns throughout the production process
• Document inspection results and maintain accurate testing and quality records
• Verify required repairs or corrective actions have been completed appropriately
• Work closely with welding, fabrication, production, and quality personnel to resolve quality issues
• Assist with investigating nonconforming materials, welds, or finished products
• Participate in vendor evaluations and quality-related investigations as needed
• Recommend improvements to product quality, fabrication processes, or inspection procedures
• Maintain working knowledge of applicable welding codes, standards, and inspection practices
Requirements / Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required
• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required
• Current/valid visual acuity examination required
• Knowledge of AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code – Steel strongly preferred
• 2–5 years of welding inspection or quality experience preferred
• Candidates with 5–10 years of strong fitting/welding experience and a newly obtained CWI certification may also be considered
• Strong understanding of weld quality, fit-up, fabrication, and dimensional inspection
• Ability to accurately complete inspection reports and quality documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate quality concerns professionally with production teams
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
• Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, noise, and moving mechanical equipment
• Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe boots
• Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, and climb throughout the shift
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed
